And it was a huge pain in the ass doing it in the driveway. I'm too cheap to take it too a shop when I can do it myself.
It sounds much better than stock. No highway drone either. I'll take a video tomorrow and post it.

Try with a plush mat or an air mattress next time. It won't stop the neighbors from complaining/getting you arrested, but it will be much more comfortable for both you and your lady friend.
I'd have no idea why you'd want to involve a shop in that anyway (and what shop exactly deals with that???) but whatever, to each his own.

Translation: I have no idea what your post is about. I'm going to make the slightly different assumption that it's an exhaust. A picture would probably clear things up.

That's funny right there.
I see kinja failed to attached the photo from my cellphone. I've added it now. It should make more sense.

Now tune it, and post results. I love seeing what these real world mods do for performance. Not everyone can sleeve the block with built internals, and crank the boost. Most just want a daily driver with more grunt.

Even with the picture, I was expecting Wert to show up.

A daily driver with more grunt is exactly what I'm going for. I already did a stage II intake with turbo inlet pipe and that work the car up nicely. The stock exhaust on the Speed3 is acctually pretty good. I might get another 8-12 horsepower with this exhaust. It was more for the look and the sound. The downpipe is another area where you can make much more power with the MZR motor. A full intake and turbo-back exhaust nets you about 30-40 horsepower increase at the wheels (if Corksports dyno results are to be believed.
I did take the car for a rip on the highway, it's nice. Low burble when acceleration, and no drone when cruising. I'm going to like having this exhaust. Car feels like it has a little more pick up too, but that could just be placebo effect.

Wert?

Ray Wert, previous Editor at Jalopnik.
It's a running joke that he is.... ah... drawn to the exhaust pipes of cars after compromising photos of him and the C7 prototype emerged.

Ahhh got ya.

Get it independently dyno tuned. Less than $500 typically, and def worth it. Off the shelf maps are fine, but there is nothing better than having a custom tune and numbers in hand. I had the same motor in my MS6 and it's got plenty of potential.

Once I do the fuel pump and downpipe done I'll look at getting it dyno'd, there are several shops in town that have a dyno, should be easy enough to book time.

Make sure they don't just run numbers and that they know how to tune the motor properly.

For sure. There is a guy in town that is putting 360+bph to the ground with his gen 1. I've got his contact details, I'll ask him which shop he used.
